1 tsp dry mustard
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Kosher salt
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp ground coriander
½ tsp ground cumin
½ tsp black pepper
1 whole chicken
2 tsp vegetable oil
1 – 16 oz can of beer


Mix together in a small bowl the first 8 ingredients and set aside.

Open beer can and pour off half.

Clean inside and outside of chicken and pat dry with paper towels.

Brush or rub vegetable oil on outside of chicken.  Season inside and outside of chicken with spice mixture.

Set can of beer on flat surface and slide chicken over the top so the can fits inside the cavity.  Balance the bird on its 2 legs and the can on the grill.  Grill over indirect medium heat until juices run clear.  Internal temperature should be 160 to 165 degrees F.  Let chicken rest for 10 minutes before removing the can.  The can will be full of hot chicken juices so be careful.
